제목: On the Boltzmann equation for long-range interactions
초록:
In this talk, we study the fundamentals of the Boltzmann equation without angular cutoff. We start from the story of Bernoulli's ideas on the ideal gas dynamics and move on to Maxwell and Boltzmann's statistical approaches. Then we will see a formal derivation of the Boltzmann equation and will classify the Boltzmann equation depending on the interaction potentials between gas molecules. We will see that the so-called Grad's classification of the angular cutoff regime is crucial in the mathematical analysis for the Boltzmann equation. Then we will see the vanishing angular singularity limit from the noncutoff Boltzmann equation to the hard-sphere Boltzmann equation. If time allows, we will also see the (special) relativistic analogue of the global wellposedness and asymptotic stability theory.
